Since my last entry many things have transpired folks. I took a weekend trip to Los Angeles 5/15-17 and that was wonderful as always. I came back just slightly under the weather and prepared myself for my trip to Montreal that weekend. I left on Wednesday morning and was still not feeling 100 per cent. I enjoyed Montreal as much as I could but didnt do much because I didnt want to make my situation worse. I came home on Sunday 5/24 and did my double at Escuelita. Before I left, the passing of legendary Octavia St. Laurent was all over the internet and club scene. May she rest in peace. I attended her funeral this past Tuesday after completing my pre-surgery exam. If all goes well, I should be having my surgery today. In fact, I am writing this one hour before I am due at the hospital.I ask for your continued support and prayers. My recovery time could be anywhere from four to six weeks. Thank you for taking the time to read this and when I get on my feet, I will surely keep you posted on my progress. Ciao.
THIS PAST SUNDAY MY KIDS SUPRISED ME WITH A PERFORMANCE AND CAKE NEAR THE CONCLUSION OF THE T-DANCE. IT MADE MY FORTY YEAR OLD HEART FLUTTER (IN A GOOD WAY) TO KNOW THAT I HAVE KIDS WHO LOVE AND APPRECIATE ME. KID S, KOOL-AID, TONI/STEFON, MICHAEL AND JAYDEN/AURELIA ARE MY FIVE KIDS. AS YOU KNOW THIS PAST DECEMBER I LOST MY FIRST DAUGHTER, EUMOSHA AND IT WAS VERY HEARTBREAKING FOR ME THIS PAST MOTHER'S DAY. HER SPIRIT WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON AND HER SIBLINGS ARE THERE TO COMFORT ME IN MY TIME OF NEED. IN OTHER NEWS, SCHOOL IS ALMOST OUT AND I AM DASHING TO LOS ANGELES THIS WEEKEND JUST TO GETAWAY. MY UPCOMING FOOT SURGERY HAS ME GOING THROUGH MIXED EMOTIONS BUT IT IS SOMETHING THAT MUST BE DONE. I WILL KEEP YOU ALL ABREAST ON THE EXACT DATE AND MY POST SURGERY RECOVERY. IM HEADING OUT NOW TO GET FINISH MY LAST ASSIGMENT FOR THIS SEMESTER BY THE ONE PROFESSOR WHO IS DRAGGING IT OUT TO THE BITTER END. ENJOY YOUR WEEK AND I WILL BE IN TOUCH.
Blessing Mothers
Bless you, Mothers, for being expressions of divine love and caring.
With love and gratitude, I offer my blessing for all mothers today.
"Bless you for your expressions of warmth: for hugs, caring, laughter, and understanding--and for the freshly baked cookies that brought us together in shared moments of comfort and joy.
"Bless you for expressions of respect: honoring our own traditions, valuing humanity in all its array, teaching lessons of generous giving and open receiving, being not just tolerant, but understanding of and for diversity.
"Bless you for steadfast influence. Should we be together now or be connected through indelible memories, I am grateful to you for your enduring love. Whether you are my mother through birth or have been honored with this role through life's circumstances, we are blessed to be family."
"The man named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living."--Genesis 3:20
The bus ride was a smash! The kids came out and had fun and the party was wonderful. Big Shoutout to Dj Bryant and Chris is Bliss. The next day I had to wake up very early because I was being inducted into the National Honor Society. My sister, niece and Aunt Clarice came out to show their love and support. It was a cute family affair but I was one tired homo. I left there and went to Esco for a double show. In other news, the semester is winding down and I can't wait for her to be officially over. I am scurrying to get the last of my papers done so that I can have this surgery setup for late May. I had to cancel my weekend getaway to Mexico City due to the swine flu scandal and that really threw me for a loop since I was fiending for fun in the sun. My next trip out will be Memorial Weekend in Montreal where I look forward to this brand new adventure. My diet and gym exercise are going well and the results are starting to show. My kids have been very supportive of me on and off stage and I hope that I have been just as supportive of them. If you come out Sunday 5/10/09, you will get a chance to meet them. That's it for now folks but I will be back on real soon with more exciting news and updates. How u doing?
