Happy Pride Week

Last Sunday I went back to work at Esco. The nite was fun and festive. The kids were happy to see me and it was great being back to work and making money. The bills were coming in slowly and I didnt need them to pile up on me. The HX awards took place on 6/22/09 and I was nominated for DragQueen of the Year. I didn't win but it was nice to be thought of. This weekend I look forward to being at Escuelita for both shows on Sunday and in addition we have the return of Ruff n Stuff from Chicago for the T-dance. I do hope you all can come out and enjoy the show. Have a safe and memorable pride week whatever you choose to do.

Newark Pride and my video

I woke up early Sunday morning to prepare myself for my first gig since my foot surgery. I was hosting the second half of Newark Pride. There was to be a stage show in Washington Park with various forms of entertainment. On my way there, I received a text informing me to "come dressed, there is no place to change". U know I was not having that foolishness. Booked entertainment with no place to change? How shady! The problem was rectified when I got there and the festivities began. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to come back to the city I was born in and perform for my people. The event was well attended and went smoothly. Im glad I took part in it.It was also the Puerto Rican Pride in NYC that day and I had told my boss I would not be working that day. Since it was gonna be my first day trying something on my feet, I didnt want to overdo it. I did manage to start shooting some video footage for my HX promo which should air during the awards event 6/22/09. I will be shooting more footage today as well. We only get 60 seconds to sell ourselves and they want it funny so Im trying to be creative and within the time restraints. Wish me luck and keep voting for me at hx.com/vote!

On my way to recovery

So the pins and stitches are out of my feet and the road to recovery continues. It will be quite some time before you see me in pumps but I do look forward to returning to work in a modified form . I am hosting the second half of Newark Pride this Sunday 6/14 so hopefully you all can come out and see me 5pm till 9pm. The flyer should be on my upcoming events page. Time for Healing

On Thursday 5/28 I had my hammertoe surgery on both feet.The first night was hell and the painkillers didnt help much. Since then things have gotten alot better but the cabin fever is getting to me.In addition, people who I considered near and dear to me really disappointed me when it came to promises they made to help me out during my recovery. This is my second week of missing work and Im not exactly sure when I will return. I will come back with a new outlook and attitude of dealing with people. Only in times of sickness do people show their true colors. That's it for now folks. Take care and be well.
