Hi Haters

Well what a weekend I had. Friday nite my son Michael got a weird phone call from a friend saying that he heard I had passed away. My son quickly extinguished that vicious lie and we forgot about it. On Saturday afternoon, a whole new turn of events took place. Text messages and phone calls were keeping me busy. I even got a suprise visit from a friend I hadn't spoken to in quite some time. It seems the rumor had circulated even more and was posted on myspace, facebook, twitter and the walk4me wednesday shadeboard. I was flabbergasted. Someone is out there trying to steal my joy but I refuse to let it happen. My health is fine and good things are going on in my life right now. For all those who did hear such a rumor, always double check before telling the next person. It's one thing to ask someone if it happened but these peeps were confirming it as if they were there. Life is short. Let us embrace it and make the best of it. Until next time, take care and be well.

Free

Free
I am free to choose my path in life.
When facing an unexpected challenge, it's easy to feel like a victim of circumstance--as though I am moving from the driver's seat of my life to the passenger's seat. Instead, I make a conscious choice to get back behind the wheel. I assert my own power in a positive, spiritually centered way.
Through prayer and meditation, I regain control of my life. My emotional strength is renewed, and I feel confident again. I release old habits or relationships that have encumbered me in the past.
The Spirit of God fills my mind, body and soul with the courage I need to move forward. My mind is crystal clear, and I am free to make healthy choices.
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."--2 Corinthians 3:17

Checking In and Saying Hello

Fall is here guys and the semester is in full swing. I like all my classes and teachers so far. Ask me again after midterms. I have committed myself to being ahead of the game in every way possible by using my free time wisely. So far it is paying off well. The remainder of my time is spent at The Cage on Tuesday and Esco on Sundays. My kids also take up some of my time but I don't mind that at all. I also need to find more time for the gym since I promised myself a new body for Halloween. We shall see what happens. Im off to the Cage now and please don't forget my two year anniversary there in October. Check out the flyer under upcoming events.

I went to the funeral.....

This past Monday was the homegoing services for Gregory Williams aka Gina Divine. Gina was not a tranny but just a guy who dressed in drag on a almost daily basis. Gina was buried as Gregory and it caused alot of confusion for many of those who attended. We have to understand we know Gina our way but her family know him their way and in regards to matters like this the family always wins. I was slightly perturbed at the fact there was a square shaped wreath that read SON on top of the casket. Who was that message for? We all know that Gina/Gregory was the son of someone so why was that necessary? In addition to that, in the program everytime the word Gregory was mentioned it was put in bold. Someone was truly trying to tell us that GINA was not to be a part of this function. After I left , I heard there was a cousin or aunt present who was SECRETLY giving out a poem that they wrote about GINA. They asked the people who received them to keep it on the dl because the family had warned this person about passing it out. WOW.

I took it very personal as a female impersonator because my family realizes that I live my life as a man but make a living as a female. Harmonica Sunbeam is a big part of me and when my time comes, trust me , she will also be a part of my funeral by being included in the program as well as a pic or two or three. LOL.

In all seriousness though, once again as gays and lesbians we need to let our thoughts and feelings be known about how we would like to be presented when our time comes. Although there may be some who may fight it, there should be some room for a meeting in the middle where everyone feels satisfied to an extent.

May Gina/Gregory forever rest in peace.

RIP Mother Gospel

From the time I started performing in NYC many years ago, I met a delightful young man named Gregory who always seemed to make me chuckle. He eventually became to be known as Gina Divine or Mother Gospel.Once I started working at Escuelita, she made regular appearances on and off stage much to the delight of the staff and audience and especially Sugga Pie and myself. Gina had her faults and shortcomings but whatever she lacked, she made up for it in love and compassion. I am happy to say that I got a chance to pay a visit to my dear sister before she passed away last nite. I will always have fond memories of the fun times as well as the times she just pissed me the hell off but then again, that's what friends do. She always called me Auntie and although I never claimed her as my niece, she became family to me and my kids. I love you Gina and I just want to say "Thank You for Being a Friend".
P.S. If you are not sure who I am referring to, feel free to visit this link

Back to School

So school is in sessioon and the madness begins. My Intro to Acting teacher never showed up on Thursday nite and the four students who were in class along with me sat for a bit and then dashed after making an attendance sheet. On Friday my microbiology professor did show up and she wasted no time in laying the rules and giving out notes. This will be my most challenging class and I look forward to it. It is also a very long class(9am till 3pm) and the information I learn here will be crucial for my career in nursing so I better be alert, attentive and present. My other classes I will attend this week starting tonite with African American History. I look forward to a successful semester and graduation in May. I will keep u posted as it progresses. Be well.

Divine Order

Divine Order
I see God's higher order unfolding in every situation.
As young children learn their alphabet and numbers, they become excited about what they've learned. They are joyful as they begin to understand more about the world around them and how it works.
I look forward to learning new ways of thinking and being that enrich my life. I look with childlike eyes at all that is happening and see God's higher order unfolding in every situation. I strive for deeper understanding based on Truth rather than appearances.
Like A-B-C and 1-2-3, I know that in all life's situations, divine order is operating. Today's challenges will lead to new meaning and purpose. I remain open and receptive to life's lessons, gaining a new level of understanding and awareness.
"Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things."--2 Timothy 2:7

Wow, has time flown!

Much time has passed since I last wrote and I do have to apologize. Summer school has ended and the fall semester has begun. I am in the process of starting a new and exciting project (which i will soon reveal) and I am trying to get used to working on it in addition to this as well. I have failed miserably but Im back on track now. Thanks for thinking of me and visiting the site as well. This is my last semester at the two year college and I need for it to end with a bang and flying colors. I have one obstacle to overcome in regards to that statement and it should be rectified by Friday morning. My goal for the next couple of months is to concentrate on four things: school , work, the gym and my new project. The dedication to all these items will surely pay off in the long run. Until the next time, be well and take care.
